Park Hyun-kyung, the co-winner of the 2024 season of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, regained her putt sense at the tournament where she shed tears last year, setting the stage for a turnaround.

Park Hyun-kyung repeatedly lost the chance to win the title at the beginning of the last season. She tied for third twice in April and tied for fourth once in April alone, falling behind in the final lead race. Notably, she tied for the lead in the Nexen Heroes and the St. 9 Masters, but ended up tying for fourth with a one-over-par 73 in the last three rounds due to sudden turbulence.

Park Hyun-kyung, who finished the first round of Nexen and St. Nine Masters 2025 at Gaya Country Club in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do on the 18th, recalled the time and confessed, "I went home crying because I was so frustrated."

Park Hyun-kyung, who collapsed due to lack of endurance, was desperate afterwards. After winning her first win of the season at Doosan Match Play in May last year, she became an adventurer as she won the BC Card and Hankyung Ladies Cups, and the McCall and Mona Yongpyeong Opens in June. Her "tears in Gimhae" have given her the opportunity to focus on the match. 스포츠토토

Park, who had been out of the top 10 in all three competitions this season, continued her slump in the first half of the day. She bogeyed at the eighth hole without birdieing, finishing the first half with one over par.

"I had plenty of chances to put it in, but the sense of the putt that shook all season didn't return," Park Hyun-kyung said, "After the ninth hole, I was sure how to put it, and I started to see the line."

In the latter half, Park transformed into a completely different player. She had four birdies without bogey, including consecutive birdies at the 10th and 11th holes, and finished the first round 3-under 69.

Park Hyun-kyung expressed confidence, saying, "I had a lot of trouble with my putt sense this season, but in the second half of today, I felt my sense for the first time in a long time," adding, "I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game as I found my putt sense."
